Planned Parenthood’s independent expenditure arm plans to launch its second ad in Northern Virginia Tuesday as part of its campaign targeting women voters in swing states. The ad tells the story of a woman named Cynthia Wilson, who explains how Planned Parenthood diagnosed her cancer early and criticizes Mitt Romney for wanting to defund Planned Parenthood.
“Planned Parenthood saved my life with an early diagnosis of cancer,” Wilson says in the ad. “I believe Mitt Romney is out of touch. I think he just does not have any idea how many lives he’s devastating.”
The ad is part of a combined $3.5 million TV buy in Ohio and Virginia markets from Planned Parenthood Action Fund and Planned Parenthood Votes. The ad will launch in Toledo and Columbus markets next week.
