The Planned Parenthood Action Fund, the political arm of the women’s health care provider, endorsed President Obama Wednesday. Along with the endorsement, the group is launching an ad attacking Mitt Romney as “out of touch and wrong for women.” Citing stark differences between Obama and Romney and high stakes for women in the election, the group plans “to play a bigger role than it ever has before the elections” and that this ad is only the first of several to come.

The ad, “Out of Touch,” highlights Romney’s support for cutting off federal funding to Planned Parenthood, overturning Roe v. Wade and his unwillingness to say whether he would have signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. The ad will run through June 19 in the key swing markets of West Palm Beach, Des Moines and Northern Virginia, as well as Washington, DC on broadcast, cable and online. Planned Parenthood is sinking more than $1.4 million into the campaign.
