Responding to critics who have contended that he doesn’t understand gun culture, Piers Morgan on Monday tested out assault rifles at a shooting range in Texas during his program on CNN.
Morgan has been one of the most vocal advocates in the media for new gun control laws since the December massacre in Newtown, Conn. Last month, he engaged in a highly contentious interview with conservative firebrand Alex Jones, a fierce defender of the Second Amendment.
Morgan tested a number of different firearms during the segement on Monday, including the assault rifle used by both Adam Lanza in the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary and James Holmes in the Aurora, Colo. movie theater shooting in July.
