White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer criticized House Republicans on Sunday for demanding a Mitt Romney style budget despite, something he said the American people do not want.

“If Speaker Boehner’s position, as he said it in that statement, remains his position, then we will not make progress, because what this president will not do is come in, right after getting reelected, and enact a Romney economic plan, which is what the Republicans in the House are proposing,” Pfeiffer said on ABC’s “This Week.”

Pfeiffer also criticized House Republicans for their refusal to compromise during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday.”

“Their view is my way or the highway,” Pfeiffer said. “Do exactly what I want. Give massive tax breaks to the wealthy and ask the middle class to pay — to pay the freight. That’s not what the American people want.”
