CLEVELAND – Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) was floored that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) would grab the headlines Wednesday night at the Republican convention on a night that Indiana Gov. Mike Pence was slated to be the headliner.

“I was disappointed for Mr. Pence and for Republicans,” Sessions said.

Sessions became a “big brother” to Pence when the then congressman entered the House of Representatives in 2001. Sessions said he was frustrated that his fellow Texan Cruz had eclipsed the star power of the Republican Party’s vice presidential candidate especially after a rocky start to the convention.

“I think that Mr. Trump offered in good taste to give Ted Cruz primetime discussion, and I don’t know Mr. Cruz responded in kind.”
