In an interview with Sean Hannity on Wednesday afternoon, Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) called his rival Mitt Romney “Obama lite” as part of his charge that the former governor is too centrist to beat President Obama in the general election next year.

“We need to nominate someone who has a stark clear difference between the Republican nominee and President Obama,” Perry said.

In the same interview, Perry downplayed his use of the word “secession” during a 2009 Austin tea party rally and ducked a question about his executive order requiring sixth grade girls receive a vaccine for the HPV virus.
