The mayor of a small central Pennsylvania town remains unapologetic after coming under fire for posting racist memes on his Facebook page, one of which calls for the lynching of President Barack Obama.

West York Mayor Charles Wasko told the Associated Press on Thursday that he was the victim of a “witch hunt” after several local council members asked for his resignation over the offensive posts.

One features a still of Clint Eastwood holding a noose, from the film “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly,” with a caption reading, “Barry, this rope is for you. You wanna bring that empty chair over here!”

Another shows a wheelbarrow full of orangutans with the caption, “Aww…moving day at the Whitehouse has finally arrived. “Kenya or bust” is inscribed on the side of the wheelbarrow. A third, of a grinning chimpanzee, is labeled “Moochelles baby photo,” in an apparent reference to the first lady.

Wasko’s feed is also full of memes disparaging Muslims and Hillary Clinton.

Council members from both political parties have called for Wasko’s resignation since the York Dispatch aired the Republican mayor’s posts on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press. They plan to ask him to resign at their meeting on Monday.

Council president Shawn Mauck told the York Dispatch that the posts made him “want to throw up,” while councilwoman Shelley Metzler told the York Daily Record that she’d “punch him in the mouth” if she could.

Wasko seemed thoroughly unconcerned by the uproar, posting on Facebook that he refused to be “politically correct” and that he would continue to say what he thought.

“There will be more to come from me,” he warned.
