Unlike Republican leaders who argue debt deal negoatiations should now be about spending, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said that the revenue issue is not settled and that closing loopholes in the tax code could bring additional, needed revenue. In a taped interview airing on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday, Pelosi noted subsidies to oil companies as an example of reforms that can bring in more revenue.

Pelosi also said that taxes could go up even further on the top one percent in the form of limiting tax deductions — a stance Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) also took Sunday. “I’m saying that’s not off the table,” Pelosi said.
