Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty took issue with the charge that he’s too dull to be Mitt Romney’s running mate.

“Now, if you goad me into it, I’ll show you my tats,” Pawlenty told Fox News. He also said he’d rather be considered “dull” than offer soaring rhetoric but empty promises, like President Obama.

“Rhetoric and teleprompter and jokes, that kind of stuff doesn’t put gas in our cars, it doesn’t pay our mortgage and it doesn’t pay our health insurance premiums. People are hurting, we’ve got neighbors and friends and loved one who’ve given up hope. The country is ailing and headed in the wrong direction, and we shouldn’t be debating who’s going to be an entertainer in chief. We should be debating who’s going to get this country moving again on the foundations and values that have made it a great success.”
