Ron Paul has spent the most money per delegate in the presidential race thus far, according to an analysis from National Journal’s Major Garrett. That number is a whopping $496,461.

From National Journal:

The Paul math goes like this: According to his latest filing with the Federal Election Commission, Paul has spent $32,766,465. He’s received 1,079,753 votes for a cost-per-vote total of $30.35. He’s won 66 delegates for a cost-per-delegate total of $496,461.

Garrett crunches the numbers for the other three candidates but they don’t come close. Even adding in super PAC spending, Mitt Romney’s amount spent per delegate is less than half of Paul’s at $188,984.

By far, the candidate getting the most bang for his buck is Rick Santorum, who’s spent $50,873 per delegate.
