Pakistan’s Supreme Court has summoned the country’s new prime minister for questioning pertaining to money laundering charges against President Asif Ali Zardari, according to The Guardian. Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has allegedly refused to honor the Supreme Court’s demand to ask Swiss authorities to reopen a money laundering case against Zardari.

Ashraf replaced former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani only two months ago after Gilani was ousted in nearly identical circumstance. The charges may prevent the current government, helmed by the Pakistan People’s Party, from serving its full five-year term.
