Independent candidate Greg Orman pumped more than $1 million of his own money into his Kansas Senate campaign as it headed into the final stretch, the Kansas City Star reported.

The new disclosures cover fundraising through September. Orman had previously contributed less than $40,000 to his campaign as of mid-July. By the end of September, Orman had contributed $1 million and loaned $200,000 to his campaign.

Orman is worth between $21.6 million and $86 million, according to previous disclosures.
