Old Rivals Yankees, Red Sox Share Good Will After Marathon Bombings

The New York Yankees announced via Twitter on Tuesday that there will be a moment of silence at the team’s home game tonight to honor the victims of the deadly Boston Marathon bombings. Additionally, the organization will play the Neil Diamond classic “Sweet Caroline” — a staple at Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox — after the third inning of the game.

The announcement prompted an expression of gratitude from the Red Sox, marking a rare moment of solidarity between the two bitter rivals.
