The lockdown at the Ohio University Southern campus in Ironton, Ohio, was lifted after a false alarm caused by an armed Brinks truck driver, WSAZ reported on Wednesday evening.

WSAZ and the Ohio University police originally reported that officers were responding to an active shooter situation. However, the armed Brinks truck driver was mistaken for a threatening man with a gun, according to WSAZ.

The campus was on lockdown for about an hour before police determined it was a false alarm. No shots were fired on campus, according to WSAZ.
