On Thursday, Ohio governor John Kasich signed HB 369, moving up Ohio’s presidential primary to Super Tuesday on March 6. This puts Ohio in a position potentially to influence the nomination. From FrontloadingHQ:
The move — the fourth shift of the year for the Ohio presidential primary — puts the Buckeye state back in a position to potentially influence the Republican nomination race. That is a much easier proposition from March 6 than it would have been all the way back on June 12 in the next to last position on the calendar. As have mentioned previously, Ohio would be a unique state on March 6: the only Rust Belt state in a sea of southern/northeaster primaries and western caucuses.
