One Chicago woman got quite the surprise Wednesday when she received a Christmas package with an unexpected bonus gift: a photo book mistakenly delivered to her home from the first family.
Chicago TV station WLS reported that Alane Church received a delayed gift from a relative Wednesday, only to find an extra package inside that was already opened. That second package included a photo book of the first family’s pictures with a gift tag attached that read “Barack, Michelle + the girls.”
Church described the gift Thursday on NBC’s “Today” as “very special,” declining to discuss the photo book’s private contents further. Church said the package was meant for “Mama Kaye,” Sasha and Malia’s godmother, and she was returning the gift to its rightful owner.
The White House confirmed the mistaken delivery, according to the Associated Press.
