Obama: ‘We Have Reached A Landmark Settlement’

President Obama said Thursday the U.S. has reached a “landmark settlement” with the nation’s five largest banks over mortgage mispractices. The $25 billion deal could help as many as 2 million homeowners. 

The U.S. is “beginning to turn the page on an era of recklessness that has left so much damage in its wake,” Obama said.
