Announcing a new task force on gun violence, President Obama said at the White House Wednesday that he wants proposals to reduce gun violence “no later than January.” Obama tapped Vice President Joe Biden to lead the task force.

“This is not some Washington commission,” Obama said of the task force, emphasizing his desire for quick action. “This is a team that has a very specific task, to pull together real reforms right now.”
