President Obama reaffirmed Wednesday his position that the use of chemical weapons in the civil war in Syria would cross a red line and prompt greater U.S. involvement, during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem.

“I have made clear that the use of chemical weapons is a game changer,” Obama said.

But Obama stressed that the first response to reports that chemical weapons were used is to verify what really happened. “Having the facts before you act is very important,” he said.
