President Obama leads in Maine’s second congressional district by 4 points, according to a new poll from the Maine People’s Resource Center. Obama gets 49.7 percent to Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s 45.7 percent.

Maine splits its electoral votes for president — two of the state’s four go to the overall state winner, and one goes to the candidate that wins each district. The first is a safe Democratic district, the second congressional district is more evenly split, and represented by Blue Dog Democrat Mike Michaud.
