President Obama will emphasize the importance of coming together to seek out common ground in his inaugural speech Monday, White House adviser David Plouffe said Sunday.
“He is going to talk about, our political system doesn’t require us to resolve all our disputes, our political differences, but it does to seek common ground when it can and should be exist,” Plouffe said on “Fox News Sunday.” “He’s gonna make that point very strongly: that people here in Washington need to seek common ground.”
Plouffe said a second theme in the address will be the need for people to remain involved in the political process in order to ensure that “progress and change” will happen. More specific policy details will come in Obama’s State of the Union address in a few weeks, Plouffe said.
