President Barack Obama is expected to deliver a statement on the situation in Ukraine Friday at 11:30 a.m. ET, the White House said.

The President will likely address the Malaysia Airlines plane that was shot down Thursday over Eastern Ukraine. Obama previously pledged assistance to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in investigating the plane crash.
