President Obama, speaking in Arlington, Virginia, told Congress not to “muck up” the economic recovery. “Do not slow down the recovery that we’re on,” Obama said, calling for an extension of the payroll tax cut. “Keep it moving in the right direction.”

Obama welcomed the positive economic news in the January jobs report, but said the unemployment rate and jobs numbers will continue to go up and down in the coming months.
