President Barack Obama is readying three simultaneous nominations to the key 11-member United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the New York Times reported online Monday, setting the stage for what will likely be a fierce fight with Senate Republicans.

As the Times noted, Obama “will be adopting a more aggressive nomination strategy” and “will effectively be daring Republicans to find specific ground to filibuster all the nominees.”
