Speaking about the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Friday, President Obama said, “Our hearts are broken today.”

“We’ve endured too many of these tragedies in the past few years,” Obama said. The President added that he reacted to the news as a parent, not a president. “I know there’s not a parent in America who doesn’t feel the same overwhelming grief that I do.”
