President Obama will issue an executive order today that will allow the Treasury Department to freeze the U.S.-based assets of anyone who “obstructs” the political transition in Yemen, The Washington Post reports.
Administration officials said the order will also apply to U.S. citizens. One official said it is designed as a “deterrent” to “make clear to those who are even thinking of spoiling the transition” to think again, the Post reports.
