Obama: ‘I Like Speaker Boehner, Personally’

President Obama disputed the idea that a lack of friendliness or personal relationships between himself and Republicans was adding to Washington’s inability to compromise, at a news conference Monday.

“I like Speaker Boehner, personally,” Obama said. “When we went out and played golf we had a great time.”

He also noted it was often perilous for Republicans to appear too chummy with him. “Charlie Crist down in Florida I think testifies to this,” he said.
