President Obama discussed a range of international issues with British Prime Minister David Cameron via a video conference on Tuesday, according to a readout released by the White House.
The two leaders spoke about the rising violence in Syria, ongoing negotiation over a U.S.-Afghanistan security agreement, the Middle East peace process and the need to continue sanctions upon Iran.
Cameron also took the opportunity to express his condolences to the community of Newtown, Conn. after an elementary school shooting left 27 people dead.
