President Obama is attending a reception at the W Hotel in Washington, D.C. Thursday. With 25 supporters paying $40,000 each for a ticket, the event is expected to raise $1 million for the Obama Victory Fund.
Meanwhile, Vice President Joe Biden will attend fundraisers on the opposite side of the country in Phoenix and Los Angeles. Biden’s events will draw a larger crowd but won’t raise as much money. From CNN:
According to a different campaign official, 100 people are expected to attend a fundraising luncheon at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, with tickets starting at $500. The fundraisers in Los Angeles are both being held at private residences. The official says the first is a prospecting event for a future fundraiser, with ticket prices for the second event starting at $10,000.
