The Obama campaign has released a new Web video to encourage online donations — featuring President Obama himself sitting at a computer and contributing to his campaign: “I have cleared this with Michelle — I want everybody to know.”
“Employer: ‘United States of America,'” Obama says, as he’s shown filling out the online form. “And my occupation is, ‘President.'”
“You know, right now is when we’ve gotta start making plans for what we’re gonna be doing in September and October,” Obama says. “And you know a lot of times, money that comes in the last week or two of the campaign, when people are really paying attention and enthusiastic — sometimes that money comes a little bit too late.
“If you can, now’s the time to do it. And the earlier you do it, the better off it is.”
