Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter has recorded a 3-minute video to rebut the claims from the latest anti-Obama ad from Crossroads GPS, the nonprofit affiliate of Karl Rove’s American Crossroads.

In the video, Cutter goes through several areas where she says the ad distorts the president’s record, from helping home-owners in the housing crises, cutting taxes for the middle class, what health care reform does, and his record on the deficit. Though the video is aimed at Rove, Cutter also manages to throw some elbows Mitt Romney’s way as well, juxtaposing Romny’s position on taxes, health care reform, and the deficit with Obama’s.

Responding to the ad’s allegation that President Obama broke a promise to cut taxes on middle class Americans, Cutter says, “President Obama has cut taxes for all working Americans” and “tax levels are nearly the lowest they’ve been since the 1950s. So when Karl Rove says the president broke his promise on middle class tax cuts, he’s not telling you the truth.”

Cutter ends with a plea to “get the president’s back.” Rove is “relying on you doing nothing to call out his BS,” Cutter says, asking viewers to spread the word and repost the video on their various social media outlets.

The Crossroads GPS ad is part of a $25 million ad campaign going up today attacking President Obama in key battleground states.
