On the campaign trail Monday, President Obama debuted a new attack on Mitt Romney’s tax plan, continuing with his campaign’s leveraging of the recent Tax Policy Center study. From a pool reporter following Obama to a fundraiser in Connecticut:

"The entire centerpiece" of Romney's economic plan is a $5 trillion tax cut, he said.
The president spoke of the Tax Policy Center's analysis of Romney's plan again.
"It's like Robin Hood in reverse -- it's Romney-hood." The crowd laughed and roared and whistled its approval.
"That's the choice in ths election. That's why I'm running for a second term as president."
He noted that people who earn over $250,000 a year would still keep their tax cut on the income below that level.
Government needs to do its part, too, he said. We can find more savings.

The Romney campaign responded shortly after the remarks were reported. From Ryan Williams, Romney campaign spokesperson:

“President Obama recently said the biggest regret of his first term was not telling better stories. He’s trying to make up for it now, but his stories just aren’t true. There’s only one candidate in this race who’s going to raise taxes on the American people – and that’s Barack Obama. While he’s used taxpayer dollars to grow government and reward his donors, middle-class Americans have seen fewer jobs, lower incomes, and less hope for the future. Mitt Romney has a plan for a stronger middle class – and, unlike President Obama, a record of accomplishment behind it.

Salon’s Alex Seitz-Wald used the term Romney-hood to describe Romney’s tax plan back on Aug. 2.
