Organizing for Action, the nonprofit advocacy group created out of President Obama’s re-election campaign operation, will not be including donors’ employer or occupation information in its quarterly disclosures, the Center for Public Integrity reported on Thursday.

“Our voluntary disclosure will be posted on our website with the exact dollar donation, name and city and state of the donor,” Organizing for Action spokeswoman Katie Hogan told the center.

Organizing for Action’s online donation form collects employer and occupation information, although for contributions by standard mail, the group asks donors only for their “full name, address, phone number and email address.”

Established as a 501(c)4 “social welfare” group, Organizing for Action could keep its donors completely secret. But the group has stated its intention to make voluntary disclosures on its website for donors who give $250 or more.
