Beijing, China reached a new record-high level of air pollution, 755 on a scale from 0 (low pollution) to 500 (hazardously high), on Saturday at 8 p.m. local time, the U.S. Embassy tweeted, according to the New York Times. That’s the highest since the embassy began monitoring air quality levels for the city in 2008. The air quality was above 500 for at least 18 hours.
