Testifying before the House Intelligence Committee in an open hearing on Tuesday, National Security Agency Director Keith Alexander said that the top secret NSA programs that have been disclosed in recent days have helped prevent “potential terrorist events over 50 times since 9/11.”
Alexander said that two of the cases would be discussed publicly at the hearing on Tuesday, and the rest will be discussed with the committee in a classified briefing on Wednesday.
“We will actually bring forward to the committee tomorrow documents that the interagency has agreed on, that in a classified setting gives every one of those cases for your review,” Alexander said.
