The National Republican Congressional Committee is spending $40,000 to attack six House Democrats in swing or Republican-leaning districts for voting against Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) latest budget, CNN reported Wednesday.

In both web and television ads, the NRCC will paint the Democrats as having voted against a balanced budget — Ryan’s plan aimed to balance the budget in 10 years — and as supportive of higher spending, including for health care reform.

“These House Democrats are going to have a hard time explaining why they voted to keep Obamacare’s devastating Medicare cuts in place and taxpayer-funded first class air travel over balancing our nation’s budget,” NRCC Spokesman Daniel Scarpinato said, according to CNN. “Their approach to solving our nation’s fiscal woes is completely out of synch with what hard-working families deserve and expect.”

The campaign will target  Reps. Mike McIntyre (NC), Collin Peterson (MN), Ron Barber (AZ), Jim Matheson (UT), Bill Owens (NY) and Patrick Murphy (FL).
