The National Republican Congressional Committee has a new TV ad in Georgia, targeting Democratic Rep. John Barrow by tying him to President Obama.

“It’s said you can judge a man by the company he keeps,” the announcer says. “Consider John Barrow and Barack Obama. Barrow supported Obama’s failed stimulus, voted for billions in bailouts, and voted to keep ObamaCare the law of the land.”

“And when it mattered most,” the announcer adds, leading into an audio clip of Obama in the 2008 election: “This is Barack Obama, and I want to ask you to join me in supporting Congressman John Barrow.” The announcer concludes: “Barrow and Obama — the wrong pairing for Georgia.”

During the 2008 cycle, Barrow was facing a Democratic primary challenge from his left. Obama, as the party’s nominee for president, recorded a radio ad for Barrow, who had previously endorsed Obama during the presidential primary season.
