Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice President of the National Rifle Association, is scheduled to respond to President Obama’s second inaugural address on Tuesday evening at approximately 10:40 PM EST. In his remarks from the 56thAnnual Weatherby Foundation International Hunting and Conservation Awards in Reno, Nevada, LaPierre will “aggressively challenge Obama’s reference to ‘absolutism,'” according to a statement.
“We cannot mistake absolutism for principle, or substitute spectacle for politics, or treat name-calling as reasoned debate,” Obama said in his address on Monday.
The NRA has said it will oppose President Obama’s proposed package of gun law reforms.
