Phony baloney just entered the political lexicon. On the debate state Saturday morning, Newt Gingrich went hard at Mitt Romney after Romney’s long answer about not being a career politician, a line he’s used many times on the campaign trail.

Rush transcript:

“Could we drop a little bit of the pious baloney? You ran in ‘94 and lost, and that’s why you were not serving with Santorum. You had a bad rating and dropped office and had been out of state for 200 days and prepared to run for reelection, and you were running for president while you were governor, and you were going all over the country, and you were out of state consistently, and you then promptly re-entered politics and lost to [John] McCain as you did to [Ted] Kennedy.

You have been running consistently for years and years, and then suddenly citizenship showed up in your mind. Just level with the american people, you have been running since the 1990s.”
