Newt Gingrich took to C-Span to respond to calls from viewers.

In one response he reiterated his attack on Super Pacs, saying that they had demeaned the discourse because candidates did not have to “sign off on them” as they would with typical political ads.

“If you could get rid of the Super Pacs and have the focus on the candidates, it would be more focused and responsible,” he told the caller. “These candidates wouldn’t have signed off on ads at that level of negativity. If you could get rid of the Super Pacs you could automatically bring down the level of negativity by almost 80 percent.”
