Newt Gingrich, who is on his third marriage and famously cheated on his second wife while he was impeaching President Clinton, expounded at length about why the sanctity of marriage shouldn’t be expanded to include same-sex couples in Saturday’s debate.
While he suggested that gay couples should be able to arrange thinks like hospital visitation rights and wills, “it is a huge jump from being understanding and considerate and concerned to saying therefore were going to implement the sacrament of marriage.”
