Newt Gingrich has taken the stage in Atlanta, Georgia, following his victory in that state’s primary — which could end up being his only win on Super Tuesday — to deliver a defiant address against what he calls the national elites.

“You know, this is amazing,” said Gingrich. “I hope the analysts in Washington and New York, who spent June and July explaining our campaign was dead, will watch this tonight and learn a little bit from this crowd, and from this place.

“We survived the national elites’ effort to kill us in the summer, because of you — because of people who said we are not going to allow the elite to decide who we are allowed to nominate.”

He then began to recount the tale of his various rises and falls in the polls, in which national elites in the Republican Party from Washington to Wall Street have bombarded his campaign with attack ads, only to see him keep bouncing back.
