On CBS’s Face the Nation Sunday, host Bob Schieffer showed Newt Gingrich a video of Mitt Romney discussing all the federal money he secured for the 2002 Winter Olympics he oversaw. He asked Gingrich what he thought of the video.

“I think the reason Gov. Romney can’t convert” his financial advantage into getting the nomination is “a breathtaking scale of dishonesty underlying the Romney campaign,” Gingrich replied. “He has the gall to attack Santorum and me for doing what he’s so proud he did.”

The other example is the Catholic Church, Gingrich continued. “Gov. Romney insisted that Catholic hospitals give out abortion pills. It came out of the Governor’s office,” and what Romney said about it in the last debate was false. “Eventually all these falsehoods catch up with you,” Gingrich said.
