Newt and Callista Gingrich will get a speaking slot at the Republican National Convention though Newt Gingrich’s participation was earlier thought to consist only of “Newt University” in which Gingrich provides policy workshops to delegates. Newt U will go on despite Tropical Storm Isaac, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The couple will be speaking on Thursday night, a little before 8 p.m. EDT, squeezed in between a Ronald Reagan legacy video and Craig Romney, according to a revised convention schedule released Sunday night. “Callista and I will talk about applying the principles of Ronald Reagan to 2012,” Gingrich said on CNN Monday morning.
