Appearing on C-Span, Newt Gingrich continued to press his charge that Mitt Romney’s moderate record means he will be an ineffective debate opponent against Obama.

Citing the similarity of Romney’s MA healthcare law to Obama’s federal reforms, Newt said, “it’s almost impossible to work out how he’s going to debate Obama.”

He then went on to claim that the moment Ronald Reagan was able to overtake Jimmy Carter was in a 1980 debate when Reagan intoned, “There you go again.” That, Gingrich said, was something Romney would not be in a position to do.
