A new ad from the Obama campaign Thursday calls on Congress to enact President Obama’s plan to raise taxes on the very wealthy in order to fund jobs for cops and teachers.

“The president’s jobs plan would put teachers, firefighters, police officers and construction workers back to work right now,” the narrator says. “And it’s paid for by asking the wealthiest Americans to pay a little more.” The narrator then blames Congress for not passing Obama’s proposals and asks people to “tell Congress we can’t wait.”

The ad comes less than a week after May’s weak jobs report. The ad,“Jobs,” is airing in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. It will begin airing on national cable next week. The ad buy is “significant,” according to the Washington Post.
