Tensions were running high in North Carolina Tuesday night, and not just between Sen. Kay Hagan (D) and her Republican challenger Thom Tillis.
The chairwoman of the Stokes County Democratic Party was arrested Tuesday at a polling place after getting into an argument about politics with another man, police told local TV station WFMY.
Chairwoman Vivian Fulk got into an altercation with a man who said Fulk started name-calling, then dumped a cup of tea on him and kicked him in the groin, according to police Chief Paula May.
May said she wasn’t sure if the man was a poll worker, a volunteer, or a voter.
Fulk was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and was released pending a Dec. 9 court date, according to WFMY.
