President Obama leads the final national poll from NBC News and the Wall Street Journal by the smallest of margins. Obama clings to a 1-point lead, getting 48 percent of the total to Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s 47 percent. In mid-October NBC/WSJ found the race a tie, both candidates with 47 percent of the vote.
The full NBC/WSJ poll will go out at 6:30 EST.
The PollTracker Average of the presidential race nationally also shows a tie at 48 percent overall.
The NBC/WSJ poll used 1,475 live telephone interviews with likely voters by landline and cell-phone conducted Nov. 1-3. It has a sampling error of .255 percent.
