The two suspects in the Boston marathon bombings, one of which is reportedly now dead, may be Chechen nationals who lived in Turkey, according to NBC.

“They were legal permanent residents,” NBC’s Pete Williams said on NBC. “They were in this country legally, at least a year. They appear to be from Turkey, possibly Chechens from Turkey. That seems to be the nationality here.

“We’re told they were not students, in their early twenties. One twenty, one twenty one. We don’t have their names yet,” he added.

FBI officials have not confirmed this information.

Update:

A source tells the Associated Press that they are from the Russia region near Chechnya, and lived in the United States at least for a year.
