Indiana state Treasurer Richard Mourdock, who is challenging longtime Sen. Dick Lugar in the Republican primary in May, has a new TV ad in response to Lugar’s new attack spot — which was likely the first negative ad that the well-entrenched Lugar has had to run in decades.
“It’s disappointing, Senator Lugar would rather launch misleading attacks than debate the issues. We’re 15 trillion in debt, in part because Dick Lugar voted for bailouts and earmarks; raising the debt ceiling; even amnesty for illegals. No wonder he’s been called ‘Barack Obama’s favorite Republican.’
“It’s time for real conservative leadership. I’m Richard Mourdock, and I approve this message, because I will never be Barack Obama’s favorite Republican.
